CF is looking for an aquaponics greenhouse assistant manager to work under the director of the aquaponics greenhouse program. This position will begin part-time with the possibility of expanding to full-time. There is the potential for immediate full-time work split between the greenhouse and our partner restaurants, depending on the candidate’s skills, experience, and desire. The right candidate will be highly motivated by our mission and possess a strong desire to learn. Experience in relevant fields is desired but training will be available in any gaps in experience for the right person. Required:

  • Experience in either aquaculture, sustainable agriculture, greenhouse management, or another related field (will consider candidates with personal as well as professional experience in these areas).
  • Comfort with physical work; such as lifting, bending, twisting, standing for long periods of time, and working in the heat 
  • Reliable transportation and means of communication
  • Flexible availability, including some weekends
  • Ability to self-direct and work efficiently both alone and as part of a small team 
  • Competence with basic computer software and team information sharing platforms, such as Google Drive 

Desired:

  • Experience operating an aquaponics system; including fish care, crop production, system troubleshooting, water quality analysis, environmental controls, pest and disease management, etc.  
  • Strong problem-solving skills  
  • Inquisitive mindset and an interest in learning new skills
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude
  • Strong interest in sustainable agriculture, aquaponics, aquaculture, and/or controlled environment agriculture

Rate of pay: $14-16/hr, depending on experience. Benefits are available for a full-time position.
